ICA Sick Room
We have a designated sick room here at ICA for children who get sick while at school. Our sick room is a comfortable place for children who are not feeling their best to rest and relax. Children who are sick will be accompanied by a teacher into the sick room while they wait to be picked up. We have cots for older children and a portable crib for infants to rest as well as books, puzzles, and other quiet toys for the children to play with.
Our sick room is equipped with a full changing station with sink and bathroom so that sick children do not need to be brought into another classroom to have their diaper changed or use the restroom. There are cubbies for their belongings to be brought in with them while they wait for their parents to arrive.
After a sick child has been in our sick room, it is thoroughly disinfected and any sheets, blankets, and soft toys are immediately put into the washing machine to be laundered.
